RAINBOW FLAGKEY WEST, Florida Keys — A “Broadway Cares” production to raise funds for essential services for people with AIDS is to be a highlight of Key West’s PrideFest celebration June 9-13. Performances are set for 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Friday, June 11, at the Waterfront Playhouse at Mallory Square.

“Broadway Cares” stars seasoned stage and screen talents Felicia Finley and Kevin Spirtas. Finley’s Broadway credits include roles in “The Wedding Singer, “Aida” and “Smokey Joe’s Café,” while Spirtas is well known as Dr. Craig Wesley from the soap opera “Days of Our Lives” and has performed in Broadway productions including “A Chorus Line” and “Meet Me in St. Louis.”

The duo will present a high-spirited evening of music, ranging from show tunes to pop standards, that reflects their experiences in film, television and the Broadway stage.

The production is brought to PrideFest audiences by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, one of the United States’ top industry-based, nonprofit AIDS fundraising and grant-making organizations. Drawing on support from the American theater community, the organization has raised more than $175 million since 1988 to assist people with AIDS and other critical illnesses, and groups that help them.

Tickets for “Broadway Cares” are $30 per person. To purchase tickets, visit www.waterfrontplayhouse.org or call 305-294-5015.

PrideFest’s packed 2010 schedule also includes champagne sunset sailing excursions, a lively street fair, parties galore, a “pink dollar” shopping stroll, forums and films, a guided trolley tour spotlighting the history and contributions of Key West’s LGBT community, contests to select festival “royalty” and a grand parade.
