KEY LARGO, Florida Keys — Visitors can stroll among and view native plants and lush landscaping while getting ideas for tropical gardening during the annual Garden Walk presented by the Upper Keys Garden Club Friday, Feb. 24.

Encompassing Tavernier, Plantation Key and Islamorada, the Garden Walk includes five private gardens between mile markers (MM) 77 and 90, including “Bali Hai,” the private garden oasis at the home of Academy Award–winning producer Jon Landau.

At the Francis Tracy Garden Center, MM 94 bayside, garden walk participants can enjoy live music, a complimentary garden tea party, plant sales and unique vendors.

Tours of the private gardens are self-guided between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., and representatives of the garden club will be on hand to share information. Visitors are welcome to stay at each location as long as they wish. Driving between featured garden displays is required.

Tickets with a map of garden locations are available for a $20 donation to the Upper Keys Garden Club. They can be found at the Key Largo Chamber of Commerce, Islamorada Chamber of Commerce and select retail locations.

The Upper Keys Garden Club is a not-for-profit community organization whose mission is to foster, promote, develop, protect and conserve the natural beauties of the Upper Keys through education and awareness.
