The 31st edition of the annual Cruise Shipping Miami convention is set to begin Monday, March 16, at the Miami Beach Convention Center. Our agency has handled media relations and published an on-site convention daily newspaper since 1991.
On the Friday before, we basically move our office to the convention center to set up a production facility where we will compose the daily. The newspaper has grown from a four-page black-and-white newsletter to a four-color tabloid-size paper in eight- and 12-page editions filled with trend stories, articles submitted by exhibitors and cruise lines, and on-site reporting on conference sessions.
CSMToday is apparently one of the few convention dailies still published in print format, according to UBM, organizers of CSM.
In addition, we approve media registrations, run the press room and schedule press conferences over the course of the four-day conference and three-day exhibition. Needless to say, it’s a busy week.
It also gives us an opportunity to do media relations for our other clients. Tuesday we are staging a “show” for Holland America Line and we’ve set up several interviews for other clients and will take photos of others to be used for press releases.
Wish us luck!
