KEY WEST, Florida Keys — Country music sensation Randy Houser is to star in a free concert at Mallory Square following the opening ceremonies of the annual World Sailfish Championship. Presented by tournament organizers and set against the backdrop of the Gulf of Mexico, the concert is to begin at approximately 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 13.
Singer-songwriter Houser is known for the charismatic authenticity of his performances. His trademark songs include the top-charting single “Boots On,“ while his albums “Anything Goes” and “Whistlin’ Dixie” have earned both critical acclaim and enthusiastic support from legions of fans.
The Rick Monroe Band is to kick off the show, with Houser set to take the stage around 8 p.m.
Because a large crowd is expected and space is limited, music lovers are encouraged to arrive at Mallory Square around 7 p.m.
Early arrivals might even hear a preview of Houser’s talent as he sings the national anthem during the World Sailfish opening ceremonies. A private event for tournament anglers and guests, the opening ceremonies take place at Mallory Square just before the free public concert.
While general admission to the concert is free, a limited number of VIP tickets are available offering prime viewing opportunities. Tickets are $20 per person in advance or $25 per person at the gate, with sales benefiting the Rotary Club of Key West. For tickets, call 305-393-6099.
Scheduled Tuesday through Saturday, April 13-17, the World Sailfish Championship brings together celebrity anglers, the winners of previous prestigious sailfish tournaments and other elite contenders to vie for a purse expected to exceed $1 million.
