ISLAMORADA, Florida Keys — Live beachfront music, mouthwatering food and an acclaimed art show are sure to whet attendees’ appetites for the 20th annual Florida Keys Island Fest.
The free-admission event is set for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, April 2-3, at Founder’s Park, mile marker 87 bayside on Plantation Key.
Highlights for the entire family include a tropically themed juried art show, sand sculptures on the beach, kite flying, Hula-Hoop twirling contests and more.
Sunday features the traditional “Taste of Islamorada” with award-winning signature dishes and sweet treats to sample from Islamorada’s finest restaurants, as well as a smoked fish dip contest.
The Islamorada Chamber of Commerce also is to introduce the seventh annual Islamorada poster at the event. Attendees can purchase posters and the artist is to be on hand to autograph them.
