BIG PINE KEY, Florida Keys — The holiday season in the Lower Florida Keys typically features subtropical temperatures, visitors fleeing frigid northern air, enthusiastic festivities and unique gifts handcrafted by local artists.
From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, Lower Keys visitors can share the holiday exuberance, enjoy live music and choose one-of-a-kind artisan gifts at the Big Pine & Lower Keys Island Art Festival.
The annual open-air fair is themed “Art & Music in a Natural Key” to reflect its wide range of creative and musical offerings, and inviting natural setting. The event takes place on the wooded grounds of the Lower Keys Chamber of Commerce, mile marker 31 oceanside on Big Pine Key.
Island Art Festival attractions include booths offering original gifts and craft items ranging from handmade jewelry to pottery and more. In addition, items are to be raffled throughout the day, providing even more opportunities for attendees to acquire pieces by members of the Keys’ flourishing creative community.
The family-friendly fair also is to feature live music by favorite local entertainers including the More Than 4 Band and multitalented solo performers Nate Meyer, Brian Roberts and Michelle Dravis.
Also featured are a kids’ corner and food and beverages to add to the seasonal cheer.
Admission and parking are free, but attendees are requested not to bring picnic baskets or coolers.
