FLORIDA KEYS — Promoting eco-tourism and celebrating environmental preservation, EcoWeek 2010 showcases events, outdoor excursions and healthful practices through activities planned from Key Largo to Key West.

Through innovation, information and inspiration, the week’s events are intended to inspire a healthier body, mind, spirit and planet.

For example, ecologically and socially conscious travelers are sure to enjoy the organic foods, wines and eco-friendly products at Key Largo’s Eco Market set for Nov. 6-7.

In the Middle Keys, Marathon is to host an art exhibition featuring works created from wholly recycled and renewable materials Nov. 3-6, as well as a Life is a Carnival Healthy Living Fair that celebrates “being green” in Florida.

The focus is on healthful fine food during a much-anticipated Key West event. Diners can delight in an organic five-course progressive dinner, complete with wines to match. “Progressing” to successive venues, they’ll feast on gourmet foods prepared by acclaimed Keys chefs.

In keeping with its tradition of an annual Green Living Expo while expanding its outreach, the Keys’ Green Living & Energy Education (GLEE) organization is planning Green Future Expos throughout the Keys during EcoWeek, each focusing on a specific environmental theme.

Key Largo’s GLEE Green Future Expo is set for Nov. 1, and a GLEE Green Life Expo is to be held Nov. 6 at the Key West Tropical Forest & Botanical Garden.
