ISLAMORADA, Florida Keys — Dog and music lovers can take a “paws” for the cause at the third annual Woofstock Music Fair set for Saturday, March 10, at Islamorada’s Founders Park, mile marker 87.

Highlights of the far-out and free-admission festival include an 11:30 a.m. blessing of the pets for those who bring their favorite four-legged friends, K-9 search and rescue demonstrations and an animal adoption village with local rescue groups. In addition, during a Rescue Me Mutt Strut, dogs up for adoption put their best paw forward to land a “fur-ever” home.

A variety of agility competitions is planned including the MaddMac Lure course race. Spectators also can enjoy a demonstration by one of the premier dock jumping organizations in the country, Ultimate Air Dogs, whose canines compete to make the farthest jumps into a swimming pool.

Sponsored by Keys Kritters, the dock diving doings also feature an amateur division where the winning pooch receives a year’s supply of doggie food.

Attendees also can find products for pets and people at vendor booths, loads of live local music, food and beverages.

Gates are open from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. Leashed, friendly and well-behaved dogs are welcome. Event proceeds benefit MarrVelous Pet Rescues & Adoptions.
